Located atop scenic Lookout Mountain, Plum Nelly Farm is being developed to produce the area's best hay, honey and fruit crops. Our family farm will be known for good stewardship of the resources God has provided, kind hospitality to all who visit, and high quality crops that delight any person or animal who enjoy them as part of their meal.
Plum Nelly Farm's name has its origins in the art show that Fannie Mennen held nearby on the back of Lookout Mountain beginning in 1947. Years earlier, her brother-in-law proclaimed, “Fannie, your place is plum out of Tennessee and nearly out of Georgia.” The Plum Nelly art show grew to attract 20,000 art lovers each year to its single October weekend event.
Lookout Mountain is known for breathtaking views of the valleys below, its role in the Civil War battles of Chattanooga and Chickamauga, and recreational outdoor activities for all. Lookout Mountain runs eighty-four miles from Tennessee through Georgia and into Alabama at the southernmost end of the Cumberland Plateau. A stop at nearby Cloudland Canyon State Park is certain to enchant the hearts of visitors to Lookout Mountain as do the rolling pastures of Plum Nelly Farm.
